76 Place to Replace Wells Fargo Center as Home to Sixers and Flyers

Opening Expected in Time for 2031-2032 NBA Season

The Philadelphia 76ers have announced plans to build a new $1.3 billion arena, set to open in September 2031 in time for the 2031-2032 NBA season. The new arena, to be named 76 Place, will replace the current Wells Fargo Center, which has been home to the Sixers and Flyers since its opening in 1996.

With a seating capacity of 21,000 and standing room for at least 2,150 additional attendees, 76 Place is expected to be one of the largest and most technologically advanced arenas in the country. The arena will feature a variety of amenities including luxury suites, club seats, and a state-of-the-art scoreboard.

The project is part of a larger redevelopment plan for the Philadelphia Sports Complex, which also includes the construction of a new soccer stadium and a renovation of Citizens Bank Park. The redevelopment plan is expected to create thousands of jobs and generate billions of dollars in economic activity.
