Early Career and Breakthrough Roles
Adams made her film debut in the 1999 black comedy Drop Dead Gorgeous. She went on to guest star in a variety of television shows before landing her breakthrough role in the 2005 indie film Junebug. Her performance earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
