IND vs BAN: Dinesh Karthik backs Gautam Gambhir to succeed in Test format as coach, says `players will enjoy`

India's former wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has backed the appointment of Gautam Gambhir as the head coach of the Indian team for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.

Karthik said that Gambhir has a "proven track record" as a coach and that he is "confident" that he will be able to help the team succeed.

Gambhir was appointed as the head coach of the Indian team for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh after Ravi Shastri stepped down from the role following the team's defeat in the World Test Championship final against New Zealand.

Gambhir has a proven track record as a coach, having led the Kolkata Knight Riders to two Indian Premier League (IPL) titles in 2012 and 2014. He also led the Delhi Daredevils to the final of the IPL in 2019.

Karthik said that Gambhir is a "very passionate" coach and that he is "always looking for ways to improve." He also said that Gambhir is "very good at man-management" and that he is "able to get the best out of his players."
