Erling Haaland Continues Goal-Scoring Spree with Treble
Manchester City put on a dominant display to thrash Nottingham Forest 6-0 at the City Ground in the Premier League on Saturday. Erling Haaland was once again in unstoppable form, scoring a hat-trick to take his tally for the season to 27 goals in all competitions.
City took the lead in the 12th minute when Julian Alvarez fired home a pass from Joao Cancelo. Haaland added a second just minutes later, finishing from close range after Phil Foden's cross. Foden made it 3-0 just before half-time, curling a shot into the top corner.
Haaland completed his hat-trick in the 50th minute, heading home Cancelo's cross. Alvarez added a fifth for City in the 65th minute after a breakaway, before Haaland completed the scoring with a header in the 87th minute.
The victory sees Manchester City move up to second place in the Premier League table, while Nottingham Forest remain rooted to the bottom of the standings after failing to win any of their last eight league games.
